The Latin Catholic Church of Cyprus organized a six-day pilgrimage to Greece, following in the footsteps of Saint Paul, from the morning of Monday, April 13, to the evening of Saturday, April 18, 2026. A total of 47 pilgrims took part in this spiritually enriching journey.
The initiative was led by His Excellency Bishop Bruno Varriano, the Latin Patriarchal Vicar in Cyprus, who personally accompanied the group.
The pilgrimage was guided by Fr. Scott Brodeur, SJ, Professor of New Testament at the Pontifical Gregorian University and a specialist in Saint Paul. The program included visits to key sites associated with the Apostle’s missionary journeys, including the place where Lydia of Thyatira—regarded as the first Christian in Europe—was baptized (Acts 16:14–15). Pilgrims also visited Veria, Philippi, Kavala, Thessaloniki, Meteora, Delphi, Corinth, and Athens.
Blending moments of deep prayer with rich historical and cultural discovery, the pilgrimage offered a unique experience of both spirituality and culture. These were truly grace-filled days, marked by reflection, learning, and a renewed sense of faith.
