The Year of Prayer for Vocations

October 26, 2025
Main

The Latin Church in Cyprus is dedicating this pastoral year as a Year of Prayer for Vocations starting from October 26, 2025, until June 14, 2026.

The objective of the Vocational Year 2025-2026 is “to promote a culture of vocation in ecclesial communities, families, and society, so that they may be environments conducive to the awakening of all vocations, as a grace and mission, in the service of the Kingdom of God.” In this way, the Church is understood as a people made up of men and women with vocations. We are therefore called to walk together in following Jesus Christ, our Master, with personal and collective commitment to manifest his presence in the world, becoming bearers of life and hope, even in difficult times.

During this year, the prayer for vocations should be recited at the end of all Masses before the final blessing.

Each month, from December, we will pray for a specific Vocation. The specific prayers will be sent to the parishes.

All the parishioners are invited to be part of the vocational ministry by praying for Vocations, by joining the Prayer Group for Vocations or by welcoming and participating in all the initiatives proposed by the Commission for the Pastoral Care of Vocations.

All the groups, the parishes, are invited to organize rosaries and adoration for Vocations.
All are invited to celebrate the World Day of Prayer for Vocations on the 4th Sunday of Easter.
TOGETHER, let’s take part in the mission of the Holy Spirit in raising awareness concerning God’s call.

Here is the prayer of vocations we say after every Sunday Mass:
