With grateful hearts and motivated by the spirit of the Jubilee, we enjoyed a favorable time of total spiritual, pastoral and communal renewal of our Christian faith. Committed to the causes of the Kingdom, we were called by Pope Francis, following the guidance of the Word of God, to hold another Ordinary Jubilee of the Church, with the theme, “Pilgrims of Hope”.
As established by Pope Francis in the Bull Spes non Confundit, the closing of the Jubilee Year will be presided over by the diocesan Bishop.
With gratitude for the spiritual fruits we have received during this jubilee year and eager to continue walking with renewed missionary zeal, we invite all the People of God – priests, consecrated persons, lay people, groups, movements and parish communities – to participate in the Solemn Eucharist of the Closing of the Jubilee, which will take place at Our Lady of Graces Parish in Larnaca on Sunday, 28 December 2025.
For this day, I would like to ask all priests to gather all the faithful and organize buses to enable as many people as possible from our parishes and communities to participate. I also ask each community to bring something to eat and drink so that we can have a meal together after the Holy Mass closing the Jubilee Year.
To celebrate the closing of the jubilee, we propose the following schedule:
2:45 p.m. Arrival of everyone from the parishes and communities.
3:00 p.m. Opening prayer/meditation
3:30 p.m. Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament
3:35 p.m. Confessions and Adoration
4:00 p.m. Blessing of the Blessed Sacrament
4:30 p.m. Holy Mass.
May this moment of celebration and ecclesial communion strengthen us in faith and impel us to be, in the heart of our communities, joyful witnesses of the Hope that does not disappoint.
